Benefits of Camp Character

There are many benefits to Camp Character, some of which are observed immediately at camp, some of which are observed when your child returns home, and some benefits that will continue to develop as your child returns to camp each summer.

• Identification of communication skills both nonverbal and verbal, including body language
• Self-advocacy skills, including IEP discussions and communicating needs
• Transition skills for youth ages 14 and up, including independent living skills
• Physical activity and exercise
• Friendship skills and lifelong connections with other youth
• Anger managment skills and positive expression of emotions
• Etiquette skills, including manners, chores, introductions, respect, and many more
• Teambuilding skills of cooperation and problem solving skills
• Trust with one another and trust in one's abilities
